Watching the preview shows. I like Terry Bradshaw on FOX, but find Shannon Sharpe impossible to listen to. Not all that enamored with Michael Strahan, either. The last two are proof that just because you could play doesn’t mean you can talk.
The game I want to want to watch is Steelers-Cowboys. Will channel surf that one with the Jets-Niners. The Giants-Eagles are up next, and New York can win its division with a victory today or Cowboys loss.
It’s going to be nasty in the Meadowlands today, and that plays to the Giants’ favor. They can run and have a stifling defense. They’ll overcome not having Plaxico Burress. Eli Manning won’t let them lose.
Not sold on the Jets today. I think the Niners will be able to score.
Feel free to chime in throughout the day.
The worst of all is Mike Irvin. He is borderline racist in his comments.
But yes, most of the ex jocks are just eye candy. They are probably told to do that. Very few actually try to analyze a game. Phill Sims is one, but they are few.
It looks like another typical Giant game. Run Jacobs down their throat and shred them in the 2nd quarter.
In the meantime our D coordinator, the ex eagle, has them stuffing everything in sight.
dave (2): The Giants look ragged today. They are talking about Burress. Why does there have to be an excuse? Can’t they just play poorly?-JD
hmm
I noticed a few dropped passes.
How popular is Plaxico with the team?
That ragged applies to the defense, too. Some shabby tackling on the Eagles’ TD drive.-JD
Dave -
If you are going to talk about Phil Simms, please spell his name correctly. And, I doubt very much if anyone tells Phil what to say.
John -
Isn’t Burress gone for the season and maybe forever? The Giants had better get used to his absence and play ball. Most people think he will do time.
dave (4): I didn’t hear a lot of whining about not having him. I think they were getting tired of his act.-JD
and no. they are the giants. the superbowl champions.
they had their one game of playing poorly.
this is a division game.
this is with the same team they lost THE GAME to oh so many years ago.
john(7)
just wondering. the reports I heard of the night last week was he was out with Pierce and Bradshaw.
Eli seems to have that hard count down..
dave (9): I just haven’t heard a lot of lamenting about not having Burress. If they lose it will be interesting to hear the comments.-JD
what is with these dropped balls? hit him in the numbers.
Couglin looks like he wants to scream. … No timeouts, but time for them to get a field goal.-JD
what happened to my D?
they are not pressuring and they are bring run on.
wow
dave (12): What a monster break for the Giants. They could be down by 13 instead of three. A 10-point play.-JD
Momentum is fickle in all sports, but there’s something about football where it seems only a few plays can turn around a game.-JD
yeah
football is special that way. similar to baseball.
amazing what hurts these guys.
The Lions could win their first today. There are other teams I’d rather see go 0-16.-JD
it would justify matt millen’s last several years if they finish with a perfect record
it looks like loss #2 today.
Still time. What’s their largest comeback of the season?-JD
dont know. but only the special teams seem to be working today.
they are being run on and thrown on and they are droppin balls and the running game is held in check.
They score on this drive and they can still win the game.-JD
Then again …. JD
Eagles amazing on third down.-JD
the tam from philly is beating us again.
i know the giants are really not a ny team but…
can i change my answer regarding which team i fear the most?
it is now philly, although i worry more about dallas for pigskin
i’m out 2mins, no emotion, this week is done.
That’s it.-JD
